Last Friday Team Run 4 Vision participated in the 2nd Melbourne Coastrek 30km event. After last year’s trek, guiding visual impaired Francois Jacobs, this year Tina and I teamed up with two other local ladies.
On a perfect day to run, jog and trek we started at Koonya Beach in the first wave at 6:30 and enjoyed a great day out finishing 4:50 minutes later at the Quarantine Station in Point Nepean.
For me it was final test of gear which I am going to use on my 220km race in Cambodia end of this month. All systems go, so to speak. Only hick-up was a blister on my left foot – not being used to walk long distances resulted in a different stride and a big blister – all good so, is already healing and should be no problem comes 27 November (fingers crossed). Here a few pics from the day.
BTW – Francois and his friend Kevin (also visual impaired) teamed up with two tireless guides from Achilles Running Club Melbourne and finished their 30km challenge in a leisurely 7 hours.
